Challenge at the Polls Each campaign is allowed to designate "challengers" who sit at the polls on election day and make sure that that the people who vote are in fact registered in the district. The procedure will be fully explained to you. Challengers are assigned to either a morning, afternoon or evening slot. GOTV We need volunteers on election day to go door to door helping us get out the vote. Help Address Mailings We're going to need lots of volunteers over the coming weeks to put address labels on our campaign mailings. If you think you can help out this way, let us know. It's a great way to help us and to meet other residents. Host a Neighborhood Gathering for the Candidates We would like to meet and hear from as many neighborhood residents as they can. We're looking for supporters to host small gatherings of their friends and neighbors to meet the candidates over coffee. If you click on this, someone from our campaign will contact you to make the necessary arrangements. We'll even take care of the coffee and refreshments. If you have any questions, just add them in the comment box below. I need a Vote by Mail Ballot Application Form Voting by Absentee Ballot is easier than ever this year. The new federal Help America Vote Act allows ALL voters to vote by mail. No special reason is needed any more to vote by absentee ballot. Let us know if you'd like to vote by mail this year, and we'll make sure you get the form you need. Lawn Sign Installation Team We need volunteers to install lawn signs. Lawn signs are easy to install, and are just pushed into the ground by hand. Make Phone Calls We need volunteers to help make calls in the days leading up to the election. You can do it from your own home or call from one of our phone banks. Provide Us With Email Addresses Help us build our email address list, so that we can use the internet to deliver their message quickly to voters. Our email list builder automatically eliminates duplicates, and every message that goes out contains a link that lets the recipient opt off our list. Register New Voters The deadline for registering new voters is Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Let us know if you have tenants, friends or neighbors who you either aren't or might not be registered to vote. We can look them up for you, and supply you with voter registration forms so that you can sign them up. If you'd rather we contact them, just let us know. Remember, the deadline for registering new voters is coming up fast.
